Two Inter-state Thieves Arrested for House Thefts

PADUBIDRI police arrested two notorious inter-state thieves in connection with a series of house thefts reported recently in Padubidri, Kota, and Kundapur police station limits in Udupi district.
The accused are Ibrahim Kalandar, a resident of Kalayi House, Koila village, Puttur Taluk, Dakshina Kannada, and Mohammad Riyaz alias Kadappa Riyaz, a resident of Urmichal Bekoor, Kumbla, Kasaragod.
The police also seized a car used for the theft and Rs 24,000 in cash from the accused.
They were produced before the Udupi court.
The court remanded them to judicial custody on Saturday.
SP Hariram Shankar said that on June 22, the accused broke into the house of Ganesh Prasad Shetty in Padebettu village and stole Rs 1.20 lakh in cash and a gold chain worth Rs 25,000.
