Health staff on toes as two schools record 14 chickenpox cases

Dakshina Kannada district health officials have directed the school managements to take precautions to contain the spread of chickenpox cases in the district.

Kadaba taluk has already reported cases of chickenpox and affected children have been asked to isolate themselves at their homes. "Two schools in Kadaba taluk have reported 14 cases already. It usually affects the children and I have spoken to the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) to ensure necessary precautionary measures to contain the spread of the disease in schools. One needs to avoid close contact with affected persons and maintain good hygiene practices including regular hand washing
