The Confederation of SC/ST Organisations on Thursday urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to address issues related to encroachment of DC Manna land in Dakshina Kannada.
Lolaksha, president of the confederation, said Siddaramaiah, who will visit Mangaluru to inaugurate the deputy commissioner's office, should clarify on encroachment of DC Manna land reserved for Dalits. "Encroachment of land reserved for SCs and STs is a criminal offence. A Dalit committee has stated that of the 8,510 acres of DC Manna land, around 7,366 acres have been utilised for various purposes. Around 977 acres of DC Manna land has been encroached.
