15 Maoists Flee During Combing Operations in Andhra Pradesh

In a significant anti-Maoist operation, fifteen armed Maoists evaded capture after two intense exchanges of fire with police forces in Koyyuru mandal on Monday.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding Maoist movement in the region, the combing operation was launched under the instructions of Alluri Sitarama Raju District Superintendent of Police Amit Bardar, and supervised by Officer on Special Duty A Jagadeesh. Special police units were deployed in the early hours of April 27, to monitor the suspected areas.
