12/13 Universities Running Without V-C in KL: HC Raises Concern

KERALA High Court has observed that it is a matter of serious concern that 12 out of 13 universities in Kerala are currently functioning without regularly appointed vice-chancellors, and that petitions are being filed in this court at nearly every stage of the appointment process and even over temporary arrangements.
This situation risks weakening the quality of higher education in the state, observed a division bench comprising Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar and Justice Basant Balaji.
