Leopard That Terrorised Koodaranji For 3 Months Trapped

The leopard that had been terrorising the residents of Koodaranji for three months has finally been captured by the forest department.

The leopard was trapped in a cage set up by the department 15 days ago. The captured leopard is around three-year-old.

The leopard, that has been entering the human settlements in Perumbula and Kuriyode areas of Koodaranji panchayat for months, had killed several domestic animals. "Initially, the presence of the leopard was not confirmed by the forest department officials. There were reports that an unknown wild creature was hunting domestic animals. But the local residents were sure that it was either a leopard or a tiger," said Biju Kannanthara, Karshaka Congress Kozhikode district president.
