Bevco Employees Caught Smuggling Liquor, Faking Theft

A theft in a beverage outlet in Thondernad became the talk of the town after the investigation found that the beverage outlet employees tried to smuggle liquor bottles, taking advantage of the theft.

Two employees of the Thandernad Cheepad beverage outlet have been suspended for allegedly making a complaint to the police that thieves had entered the beverage outlet and stolen 80 bottles of liquor, while the actual figure was just four bottles. Shop in-charge M P Harish Kumar and audit manager K T Biju were suspended by the Managing Director (MD) of Kerala State Beverages Corporation (Bevco), Harshita Attaluri.
