He urged citizens to chlorinate wells, water tanks, and other water sources as a preventive measure.

He was speaking after inaugurating the newly constructed building complex of the Feroke Government Taluk Hospital in the Beypore constituency. He said that through the Jalamanu Jeevan initiative, the government aims to clean five million wells in just two days.

The chlorination of water tanks and wells across the state was carried out on August 30 and 31 throughout the state.

The chief minister noted that the state government has planned and implemented projects to develop the health-care sector in Kerala. The government has earmarked Rs10,000 crore through KIIFB for the health sector. Of this, Rs 23.5 crore was spent on building the new hospital complex, which will benefit people from both Kozhikode and Malappuram districts.
