Allegations of SDPI support leave min V Abdurahiman in a bind

SPORTS Minister and Tanur MLA V Abdurahiman came under criticism on Thursday over allegations of securing support from the SDPI to win the assembly elections in Tanur.
The criticism against the minister has also dealt a blow to the CPM, which is approaching the upcoming elections by taking a strong stance against Jamaat-e-Islami and the SDPI.
Frustrated by the CPM's continuous attacks on the SDPI and Abdurahiman's endorsement of CPM politburo member A Vijayaraghavan's statement that Priyanka Gandhi won the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat with the votes of communal forces, the SDPI Malappuram district secretariat issued a statement reminding the minister of its past support during the elections in Tanur.
