A division bench issued notices to state and complainants
THE Bombay High Court on Tuesday sought the Maharashtra government's response to the plea filed by stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra seeking quashing of the first information report (FIR) registered by the Mumbai Police against him for his mocking lyric and traitor remark against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
A bench of Justices Sarang Kotwal and SM Modak issued formal notice to the State government and the complainants. However, the Special Public Prosecutor appearing for the State sought time to file a response.
