THE eviction drives in Assam have triggered panic in the neighbouring states about the possible influx of the evictees, including illegal immigrants.
The governments of Nagaland and Manipur have already issued advisories to prevent the illegal entry of people into their respective states. On Thursday, the Meghalaya government sounded an alert at a high-level meeting chaired by CM Conrad K Sangma.
