Kerala hotspot of mule accounts: SLBC convenor

STATING that Kerala is emerging as a hotspot for mule accounts, the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) Kerala & Lakshadweep convenor Pradeep K S said that these account holders risk serious legal consequences, including imprisonment and black-listing by financial institutions.
"Fraudsters are increasingly targeting school and college students to open mule accounts, which are then misused to launder money and commit cyber fraud," he said at a press conference here.
