District administration of Yadgir, Raichur issue warning to stay away from riverbanks
INCESSANT rains in the Western Ghats and adjoining areas of Maharashtra have caused a significant rise in the water level of the Krishna river, prompting flood warnings across several north Karnataka districts including Belagavi, Bagalkot, Raichur and Yadgir.
The Hipparagi barrage in Jamakhandi taluk of Bagalkot district recorded an inflow of 79,800 cusecs as of 5 pm on Thursday. In response, 79,050 cusecs were discharged into the Narayanpur Reservoir in Yadgir district to maintain water levels at the barrage.
