SPOOK rock is not just music — it's a mood, a shiver down the spine with guitar riffs and ghostly atmospheres. With roots in horror films, dark folklore, and everything macabre, this genre lives off the thrill of the unexpected.
Now, that shadowy genre in music has found a new voice in Malayalam. On April 30, the MC Audios Naadanpattukal dropped a Chenda Yakshi Paattu on their YouTube channel as an AI-animated lyrical video. The song has quickly caught on across social media for its uncanny concept. Nearing one lakh views, the song marks a collaboration between two bank employees — Suresh Narayanan, who penned the lyrics, and Sreenesh L Prabhu, who composed the tune.
