Budget focuses on comprehensive development of Kannur, projects an expenditure of ₹504 crore
The Kannur corporation has declared its support for ASHA workers protesting in front of the state secretariat by announcing a monthly incentive of Rs 2,000 for those working within the corporation limits.
Deputy mayor Adv P Indira made the announcement during the corporation's budget presentation, adding that the incentive aligns with the UDF-led local self-government bodies' decision to provide financial aid from their own funds.
The budget, which focuses on the comprehensive development of Kannur, projects an expenditure of Rs 504 crore. While LDF councillors criticised it for lacking new initiatives, mayor Muslih Mathathil said that the proposals would transform the city.
