Regional Imbalance Panel to Submit Report in 3 Months, Says Chairman

He says measures required for eliminating regional imbalance will be suggested to state govt

The state-level Regional Imbalance Redressal Committee, which has undertaken a statewide study to provide necessary facilities for the development of backward taluks, will submit its report to the government in three months, said Prof Govinda Rao, chairman of the committee.

The committee is examining 45 criteria including education, health, per capita income, agriculture, dairy farming, industry, service sector and social sectors in all the districts of the state, he said.

Prof Rao was speaking while presiding over a meeting held at the Bidar Zilla Panchayat office in this regard. The study has already been completed in 28 districts, including Bidar. He said that a report on the measures required for the elimination of regional imbalance will be recommended to the government in the context of the development and changes made in the implementation of the Dr D M Nanjundappa report, he said.
