K'buragi DC Urges Peaceful Celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi, Milad-un-Nabi

DEPUTY Commissioner of Kalaburagi, B Fauzia Tarannum, appealed to the people of both Hindu and Muslim religions to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi and Milad-un-Nabi festivals in harmony, as both festivals fall on the same day.

Presiding over a peace committee meeting, she said that environmental concerns should be shown by installing eco-friendly clay Ganapati idols instead of using POP Ganesha. She also instructed officials to hold similar peace committee meetings three days in advance at the taluka level and provide necessary information to the organizations. To avoid running to various departments to obtain permits for the Ganesh idol installations, a single-window system should be started in the urban area, and permits should be deployed to maintain law and order, the DC directed the concerned officials.
