B'luru stampede: Priyank rubbishes Oppn demand for CM, HM's resignation

RURAL Development and Panchayat Raj and district in-charge minister Priyank Kharge on Friday said that the chief minister and the home minister need not resign as sought by opposition parties for the recent stampede in Bengaluru.

He rubbished the demand of opposition parties. He told reporters here that the chief minister and the deputy chief minister have already stated that the government owned the moral responsibility and it has taken certain corrective measures. As a first step, it has announced compensation to the kin of the victims of stampede and has taken the responsibility of treating the injured people. It has launched a magisterial inquiry and suspended a few top jurisdictional police officers for their negligence in handling the situation.
