State capital gets direct air connect with Abu Dhabi

CHIEF Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday flagged off a direct flight from Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates (UAE), to mark the first anniversary of the BJP government in the state.
Operated by IndiGo Airlines, the direct flight service has enhanced the state's international aviation connectivity, making it the fourth international route from Bhubaneswar after Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok.
The direct flight service from Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi will operate thrice every week - on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays - with a capacity for 180 passengers. The flight duration is approximately four hours. This new service is expected to benefit passengers travelling between Odisha and Abu Dhabi, both in terms of time and cost.
