South Indian language channels to get better representation in DD

WITH the viewership of Doordarshan (DD) Free Dish, Prasar Bharti's Direct-To-Home (DTH) service growing manifold times each year, the government is taking various proactive measures to increase the representation of South Indian language channels on the platform.
Accordingly, slots were reserved for these channels in the e-auctions of DD Free Dish earlier this year. The government also simplified eligibility norms to ensure greater participation from private broadcasters in the southern region.
