'SWM user fee' will be imposed instead of UGD and SWM

HDMC agreed to reduce fee for open sites to 25 paise per sqft, down from previously proposed 50 paise per sqft

BUCKLING to pressure from the public, trade and industry bodies, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation has decided to withdraw the freshly introduced UGD user fee and SWM cess and instead impose 'SWM user fee' along with the property tax.

The trade and industry bodies, who are partially satisfied with this, have decided to take up the entire issue of the exorbitant hike in the property tax with the government.

Since the HDMC increased the property tax by introducing the SWM user fee and UGD user fee, the public was up in arms against the urban local body.

Apart from the public, the trade and industry bodies were also enraged by this move.

Hence, the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) appealed to the public not to pay taxes until the corporation withdrew the user fees and reduced the tax.
