Kudligi boasts over 15,000 tamarind trees, extensive groundnut cultivation, making it ideal location for dual-purpose processing facility
IN a major boost to the agriculture sector in Kudligi taluk of Vijayanagara district, a processing unit for tamarind and groundnuts is all set for inauguration in September. The new facility, located near Kasapur in Gudekote of Kudligi taluk, will be inaugurated by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
The event was earlier scheduled for inauguration on August 31 but was put off. Preparations are now underway for its opening in September with several senior officials including the Vijayanagara Deputy Commissioner (DC) and the Superintendent of Police (SP) inspecting the site over the past few days.
