SETTING an example on how to get work extracted from government authorities, girl students of Government Higher Primary School at Hosalli village in Ron taluk wrote 101 letters to the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) to demand the completion of a toilet in their school, construction of which was started in 2021.

As a result, within a week, the work was taken up and is likely to be completed within four days.

Girls of this school have been making several demands to complete the half-built toilet, but nobody responded. The teachers and students then decided to write 101 letters and post them at the same time to ensure that officials are woken up from their slumber.

The students and teachers are now happy as the construction work began on Monday and by this weekend, the school will have a full-fledged toilet.
