Ex-legislator's home vandalized over remark on TDP MLA

Tensions escalated in Nellore after former YSRCP legislator Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy on Tuesday alleged that a mob, allegedly backed by ruling TDP supporters, attacked and ransacked his residence late Monday night, causing extensive damage to property.

According to Reddy, the assailants struck around 9 pm on Monday, just hours after he had openly criticised local TDP MLA Vemireddy Prasanthi Reddy. At the time of the incident, the ex-MLA was away with his son, Rajath Reddy. "They stormed the house, shattered windows, broke furniture, smashed two cars and stole the CCTV hard disk," he told mediapersons.

Only his 80-year-old mother was at home during the attack. "She was frozen in fear. They threatened her. Had I been inside, I wouldn't have made it out alive," he alleged, adding that the attackers appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.
