'Goat killer' leopard has moved to Pollachi forest range: Officials

TAMIL Nadu forest department officials suspect that the leopard which was killing goats at Kumittipathi village in Madukkarai forest range has moved to the Pollachi forest range.
Officials said they initially thought that there were two leopards. However, after there were no incidents at Madukkarai forest range in the last 12 days, officials suspect the animal has moved to Pollachi forest range as a cow was killed on April 3.
The staff in Madukkarai forest range are also raising awareness among villagers to prevent further escalation of human-leopard conflicts in Kumittipathi.
