EC Appoints Senior IAS Officers as Observers for V-P Election Process

Ahead of the voting on September 9 to elect the next Vice President, the Election Commission on Thursday appointed two senior officers of the rank of Additional Secretary as Observers to oversee the electoral process.
Since both ruling NDA and Opposition INDIA grouping have fielded their respective nominees, the contest is going to be between C P Radhakrishnan of the former and Justice (Retd) B Sudershan Reddy of the latter.
