This marks the third consecutive month when headline inflation remained below 4%
THE country's retail inflation eased to a 69-month low of 3.16% in April 2025, driven primarily by a continued decline in vegetable prices, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (Mospi) on Monday.
This marks the third consecutive month when headline inflation remained below 4%, raising hope of monetary easing in the coming policy meetings. Retail inflation clocked 3.34% in March and 3.61% in February. In April 2024, retail inflation was at 4.83%. The RBI has predicted the CPI to remain at 4% in FY26.
