Sunjoy Hans

Odisha's beloved homegrown brand Lalchnd today stands not just as a business, but as an emotion — a bond of trust, grace and gratitude.

At the heart of this journey is Sunjoy Hans, Chairman of Lalchnd Group who believes that success is never owned - it is granted through Divine Grace and the goodwill of customers, whom he considers as true guiding forces.

Q: Congratulations on receiving the Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) from KIIT University. What went through your heart at that moment?

Sunjoy Hans: It was one of the most emotional and humbling moments of my life. When Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS, conferred the honorary doctorate, I silently bowed my head in gratitude to Divine Grace and to every customer whose trust shaped this journey.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished global dignitaries including Judge Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf, former President of the International Court of Justice, and Mr. Norbert Sauer, Founder-Chairman of the Archaeological Park in Germany.

Members of the Lalchnd family, my team and close well-wishers were present, and their presence filled my heart with thankfulness. This honour is not my personal achievement - it belongs to the entire Lalchnd family and our customers, whose faith has been our greatest strength.

Q: You have received a remarkable number of awards and recognitions this year. How do you look at these honours?

Sunjoy Hans: This year has truly been a journey of grace. Every honour reminded me that recognition is not an achievement, it is a responsibility. Awards may carry our names, but in reality, they belong to every member of the Lalchnd family and to our customers, whose trust is our biggest strength.
