The petition was filed by former chief minister's niece and nephew
THE Karnataka High Court on Monday dismissed an appeal filed by legal heirs of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa - J Deepak and J Deepa - claiming right over the confiscated valuables and properties seized in connection with the disproportionate assets case against her.
Justice V Srishananda passed the order while upholding the order passed by the special court on July 12, 2023, rejecting their request to release confiscated properties.
On February 19, 2024, the special court fixed the date to return the valuables, gold and diamond jewellery seized in connection with the case and directed the Tamil Nadu government to depute officers on March 6 and 7 to take over the valuables.
