20% Reservation for Agniveers in UP Police Depts Okayed

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved a 20% reservation for Agniveers in specific government jobs, including police constables, mounted police, fire personnel, and PAC constables, through the direct recruitment process.
The state cabinet, presided over by CM Yogi Adityanath, on Tuesday also decided that Agniveers who complete their stint in the Army will be granted a 3-year age relaxation when applying for these jobs.
However, only permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh will be eligible for this benefit.
The first batch of Agniveers is expected to be available for recruitment by 2026.
