IN a major setback to the YSRCP, party Rajya Sabha MP V Vijayasai Reddy announced his resignation from politics.

YSRCP MP Vijayasai, key aide to Jagan, retires from active politics

"I am retiring from politics. I will resign from Rajya Sabha tomorrow, Jan 25, 2025," Reddy, national general secretary of the YSRCP and the party floor leader in the Rajya Sabha posted on 'X' on Friday.

At a time when YSRCP president and former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was away in the UK, Vijayasai Reddy took the shocking decision.

Vijayasai sailed together with Jagan during the tough times and also went to jail along with him in connection with the courts cases and is still Accused no. 2 in most of the cases, in which Jagan is A1.
