TN plans to distribute cervical cancer HPV self-test kits to women under 35

AFTER observing that several women hesitate to come to hospitals to undergo cervical cancer screening tests, the Tamil Nadu Health Department is planning to distribute HPV selftest kits to women aged 35 years through health workers.
The National Health Mission-Tamil Nadu is planning to launch the programme on a pilot basis in Dharmapuri district, where around 25,000 women have been targeted under the project.
