Spot gold hits $3,240/oz as global trade war intensifies

AS the trade war is taking murkier turns by the day, the safe haven rush for gold has taken the spot price of the yellow metal to a new high on Friday.
The mid-day price of the metal crossed the $3240/ounce mark in the US market. In the domestic markets, retail prices of 24-carat gold varied from ₹91,820/10 gram in Kerala to ₹92,870/g in Delhi.
In Mumbai, 24 carat gold was trading at ₹92,660. For 22 carat, the price was at ₹88,250/10 gram in Delhi and Mumbai, while it was ₹87,450 in Kerala.
