Speaker writes to CS, seeks shifting of depts' offices for museum, gallery

AIMING to set up a museum, an auditorium and an exhibition gallery, the Delhi Assembly has sought the Chief Secretary's (CS) intervention to vacate a portion of its premises occupied by various departments.
The Vidhan Sabha Secretariat is undertaking development of the Assembly complex as a prime heritage site of national eminence.
Meanwhile, sources said that the Directorate of Education has agreed to vacate office premises occupied at Delhi Vidhan Sabha.
In a letter to CS Dharmendra, Speaker Vijender Gupta said a "significant portion" of the Assembly premises is "occupied" by the Directorate of Education of Delhi government, Delhi Pharmacy Council, and the publication division of the Government of India.
