Shah to states: Work out disaster mitigation plans at district level in 90 days

UNION Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday asked state governments to work out an action plan for disaster management and mitigation at the district-level in the next 90 days, also urging them to conduct inter-state mock drills on an annual basis on tackling calamities like cyclones.
Addressing an annual conference of Relief Commissioners of States, Union Territories and Disaster Response Forces, the Home Minister emphasised the need for a state-level action plan against lightning and thunderstorms and called upon states to formulate and share it with the Centre in next three months.
