Home minister says if state govt had been alert after 9 NDRF teams were sent on July 23, lives could have been saved
UNION Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said the Centre had sent advance warnings to the Kerala government about possible floods and landslides and even dispatched NDRF teams, but the state government did not act.
Taking part in discussions in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha on the landslides in Wayanad that claimed over 160 lives, Shah said had the state acted upon the warnings, the tragedy would not have happened.
