RSS seeks to fix accountability on Maha BJP leaders

THE Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has sought accountability from BJP leaders over the party's Lok Sabha poll setback in Maharashtra and asked them to undertake corrective measures if they want to win the state assembly elections slated for later this year, RSS sources said.
Senior BJP leaders, such as ministers Chandrakant Patil and Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, met RSS functionaries at Motibaug, the Sangh head office in Pune, to discuss the poll debacle in Maharashtra.
The BJP won nine Lok Sabha seats out of 28 it contested, as against 23 in the 2019 elections. The Congress won 14 seats against one in 2019, the Sharad Pawar-led NCP eight and the Shiv Sena (UBT) nine.
The Ajit Pawar-led NCP won only one seat.
