ONE of India’s most capped international hockey players, Manpreet Singh, has not found a place in the 33-strong probables list ahead of a demanding season.
The 2026 calendar includes the World Cup as well as the Asian Games, an Olympic qualifier for the Los Angeles event in 2028. Considering that Manpreet Singh is still one of the side’s top performers and plays in multiple positions, it’s still a mystery as to why he has been left out.
While chief coach Craig Fulton said it was about resting a few key players ahead of a demanding year, it’s understood that the issue isn’t as simple.
