A man was killed and another sustained burn injuries after a massive fire broke out, spreading to around 500 shanties near Rithala Metro Station in Delhi's Rohini on Friday night, officials of the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said.
According to fire officials, they received information about the blaze around 11 pm in jhuggis near the Delhi Jal Board staff quarters in Rohini Sector-5, close to the metro station. A total of 29 fire tenders and firefighting robots were rushed to the spot, while police cordoned off the area. The fire was brought under control by early morning, officials said.
