Leopard that attacked 3-year-old in AP caught, released into deep forest

A leopard, which was trapped on Friday late night near Deer Park Area along the Tirumala Down Ghat Road, was released deep into Talakona Forest Range of Seshachalam forests, some 40 km from the spot where it was captured on Saturday by TTD and the forest department officials.

Following the leopard attack on three-year-old boy Kaushik at the 7th mile (deer park area) on the footpath from Alipiri to Tirumala, on Thursday night, TTD forest wing and district forest officials swung into action and set up two cages one at the seventh mile and other at few metres away. Both places, according to forest officials, were near the waterholes and places most likely to be visited by the wildlife. They also set up a few camera traps to help in capturing the wild cat.
