ISRO researchers test parachute airdrop for Gaganyaan mission

THE researchers from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) recently completed the main parachutes test for the most sought after Gaganyaan mission- the crewed mission, where astronauts will be sent on three day low Earth orbit mission.

ISRO researchers test parachute airdrop for Gaganyaan mission

The test was conducted at the Babina Field Firing Range (BFFR) in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh on November 3. The details of which were made public on November 11, 2025.

The test is a part of the the ongoing series of Integrated Main Parachute Airdrop Tests (IMAT) that is necessary for the qualification of parachute system for Gaganyaan Mission.
