CONTROVERSIAL Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu could be headed for trouble as the Opposition in parliament on Monday claimed they had enough signatures to submit a motion to impeach him.
The main opposition comprises the Maldivian Democratic Party with 43 seats and The Democrats with 13. Taken together, they add up to 56 — just enough to impeach the president. The opposition, however, is yet to submit its signatures for the motion.
The ruling coalition comprises Muizzu’s People’s National Congress and the Progressive Party of Maldives.
