HC rejects plea to stop puja in cellar of Gyanvapi

THE Allahabad High Court on Monday dismissed a plea by Anjuman Intezamia Masjid (AIM), Gyanvapi mosque management committee, challenging a Varanasi district court's order allowing worship in the southern cellar (Vyas Tehkhana) on mosque premises.
Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal had on February 15 reserved the judgment after hearing both parties. While dismissing AIM's appeal, Justice Agarwal said: "After going through the entire records of the case and after considering arguments of the parties concerned, the court did not find any ground to interfere in the judgement passed by the Varanasi district judge, dated January 7, 2024
