HC dismisses KTR petition to quash Formula-E case

NOTING that the allegations indicate potential wrongdoing and misappropriation of HMDA funds and are sufficient to warrant further investigation, Justice K Lakshman of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday dismissed a criminal petition filed by former minister KT Rama Rao requesting quashing of the FIR registered in the Formula-E race case.

Rama Rao is Accused No. 1 (A-1) in Crime No. 12/ROC-CIU ACB-2024, registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) under Section 13(1)(a) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and Section 409 read with Section 120B of the IPC, alleging misappropriation of funds from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) for conducting the Formula-E car race in 2023.
