Gopalpur rerun? Teenage girl gang-raped in front of partner at Odisha beach

A teenage girl student was allegedly gang-raped by two youths in front of her partner at the popular tourist spot Baliharichandi beach under Brahmagiri police limits of Puri, in yet another shocking incident of sexual assault that comes as a chilling reminder of the Gopalpur case when a 20-year-old student was gang-raped by 10 persons in front of her male friend.

The incident though took place on Saturday came to light after a formal complaint was registered on Monday. In fact, the victim was initially reluctant to report the matter but Puri police persuaded her to lodge the complaint and swung into action by arresting the two accused.
