Ghazni era, southern and eastern dynasties in focus in NCERT Class VII book

THE Class VII Social Science Studies textbook (Part-2) released recently by the National Council of Educational Research and Technology (NCERT) places significant emphasis on the brutal regime of Mahmud of Ghazni.
While the previous edition of the book dedicated just one paragraph to the Turkish ruler, a whole chapter has been devoted to him in the revised book, accessed by this newspaper. The fourth chapter dwells on the ruler and the destruction, plunder & slaughter of tens of thousands of Indian civilians.
