DRDO develops green propulsion system for low-orbit Leo missions

IN a big boost to achieve sustainable development of space technology, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully demonstrated its 'Green Propulsion System' in-orbit functionality for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) missions on an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)launched payload on board the PSLV C-58 mission.

This technology will guarantee a non-toxic and environment-friendly propulsion system for low-orbit space. "The system consists of indigenously developed propellants, fill and drain valves, latch valves, catalyst bed, drive electronics, etc. It is ideal for space missions with high thrust requirements," DRDO said.
