Cong seeks SEBI chief's resignation, to launch nationwide stir on Aug 22

THE Congress on Tuesday announced a nationwide agitation on August 22 demanding the resignation of SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch and a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the Adani money siphoning scandal.
The announcement was made after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge held a meeting with all general secretaries, state unit chiefs and AICC state in-charges in the capital.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Congress general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal said that on August 22, Congress workers will hold demonstrations in front of the offices of the Enforcement Directorate.
"The shocking revelations of a nexus between the SEBI and Adani need a thorough investigation. The money of small investors in the stock market cannot be jeopardised," Kharge too said in an X post.
