CEC says 'mother of all elections' will reflect a model of transparency and impartiality

AFTER purifying the electoral rolls through the SIR, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday announced a twophase election to the 243-member Bihar Assembly on November 6 and 11. The counting of votes will take place on November 14. The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is now in force.

The election process is expected to be completed before November 16, six days ahead of the expiry of the Assembly's current term on November 22.

Describing the Bihar election as "mother of all elections", Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said, "The entire election will be reflecting a model of transparency and impartiality as a model".
