Bihar row after Union minister says 'Muslims never vote for JDU'

SENIOR JD(U) leader and Union minister Rajiv Ranjan Lalan Singh's remark that Muslims do not vote for his party has sparked off a political row.
While a party colleague rejected Lalan Singh's claims, contending that the minorities exercised their franchise in favour of JD(U) in the recent elections, other parties dismissed his comments as lacking credibility.
Addressing a JD(U) workers' meeting in Muzaffarpur in North Bihar, Singh said that Muslims never voted for JD(U) even when the Nitish Kumar government launched various development projects for them.
